Venetta, a hardened casino waitress, worries a similar fate awaits her younger, lighthearted co-worker, Lacey, who already shoulders the burden of a deadbeat mother and loveless boyfriend. Too late to escape herself, Venetta tries to persuade Lacey to leave her small town existence behind and strike out for the bright lights.
